The Turning Point Academy

Jack Canfield's Success Principles Workshop in Dallas, Tx, Feb. 27, 2010

Carol Appelbaum (left) and Betsy DeVega (right) attended the workshop to gain motivation and to learn from Jack Canfield so they can continue to motivate their students at The Turning Point Academy (Sugar Creek area) and The KnILE Prep Academy (Greatwood area).
We have been assisting our Grades 6-12 students and fostering personal and academic maturity with these success principles, along with other success skills that are taught to business entrepreneurs.

Carol Appelbaum likes to call The Turning Point Academy a "Better Life" school.
When sharing her background it makes sense why she stepped "out of the box" to provide a different education for her daughter after elementary school.

"I do not complain about things, I figure out a plan to do what is needed to create a solution".

As a co-founder of The Appelbaum Training Institute (ATi) with husband, Marty and Mother-in-law, Maryln Appelbaum,
Carol is more than qualified to step up and take on this task.

ATi is known throughout the United States for their powerful learning strategies.

Over 50,000 educators attended their professional development seminars and conferences in 2009.

The Appelbaums have appeared on Channel 2 News

The Appelbaum's authored two Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses used by college undergraduate students

Marty Appelbaum is featured in Chicken Soup for the Teacher’s Soul" (pg. 75).

ATi has been honored to accept three Houston Business Journals "Best Places to Work" awards.

The Appelbaums are qualified to provide students with a solid foundation in education and in leadership skills.

Carol Appelbuam started a school in 2008. The Turning Point Academy (TPA) with the understanding of success skills, academics and the need for new learning methods.

Carol is the driving force behind the TPA, committed to changing the way education is been done in our country. She emphatically agrees with Mortimer Adler who states “Education should be individualized not standardized!”

Her goal is for The Turning Point Academy, to be the model school for how all children are educated in this new century.

There were a lot of things in Carol's life that were difficult for her to deal with, like most kids, she had no control over them. At the "Success Principles Workshop", Jack Canfield described his story and it really resonated. Carol realized it described why she has the extra compassion and empathy toward teens today. Growing up she had learned to be hyper visual and sensitive. To notice every little thing. Carol easily sees through the barriers and walls that disguise the insecurities of teens today.

Carol understands that success is a learned behavior and feels compelled to provide daily success skills so teens have the advantages they need in higher education taking them into the global workforce.

Knowing what she wanted for her daughter's education,
Carol began to think...
what if there was a school that offered Grades 6-12 students a platform to grow beyond limits with like minded teens who are being guided to implement and use vital success principles daily at school. For teens to get a head start in the newer way of being successful in the NEW ever changing global workforce, being assisted to set grand goals and learning there isn't anything wrong with reaching high. In fact, it doesn't take anymore effort than it takes to dream small.

There are many parents who share in this idea of a different education. It is my purpose in life to reach out to those parents and let them know there is an alternative in education.

Meet with Carol at the next OPEN HOUSE Events planned:

March 22,  See our students working on success principles and the on-line curriculum.

April 22, To learn about the "brain based" curriculum that TPA prides itself on.

To R.S.V.P.
