The Turning Point Academy (TPA) is one of the first models of the 21st century “in-house” schooling that is on the horizon. TPA is a school that implements the most current research of how the brain learns. TPA provides students with an impressive advantage in learning that carries them into college with high GPA’s and a solid foundation of success principles creating an impressive formula for becoming leaders of tomorrow. TPA provides a nurturing environment for the multi-sensory, children of now. Teens whose potential is often overlooked in tradition school settings. TPA forms a social network for these teens. Students together with their peers become a team experiencing key habits for success that will last them a lifetime – positive interactions, daily goal setting, public speaking, community service and positive affirmations that support learning. At TPA students are taught how to put the Law of Attraction to use in their everyday lives. TPA students learn to utilize the power within themselves as individuals and within the community to live their dreams and lead others to do the same.
The Appelbaums are the founders of The Turning Point Academy. As co-founders of the Appelbaum Training Institute, they are known throughout the United States for their powerful learning strategies geared to students. Over 50,000 educators attended their professional development seminars and conferences in 2007. In addition to his Degree in Business Management and Montessori teaching certificate, Mr. Appelbaum has been a teacher, an administrator and a principal of schools. He authored two Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses used by college undergraduate students and is featured in “Chicken Soup for the Teacher’s Soul.” His teaching style enhances positive attitudes in the lives of all of his students. Having a 6th grade child, Mrs. Appelbaum’s goal is for The Turning Point Academy, to be a model for how all grades 6-12 students are educated in the 21st century. She draws from her 20 + years of spiritual knowledge as guidance in educating the teens at TPA.
